If you wish to start hiking the Rokujurigoe-kaido from this course by bus, follow those instructions:
Walk 700 meters until Dainichibo.
Here is what Odan no Sugi's millenary tree looks like. It is said the prince Mimorowake died in 56 at the exact same place where the tree is standing.
Look for this panel. The tree located near it is the famous Odan no Sugi tree.
You arrive at the memorial steles of Dainichibo.
Follow the dirt path that will lead you to Odan no Sugi's giant cedar tree
Follow the paved road for 2 km.
You arrive at this part of the trail called Sainokami Toge 塞ノ神峠, leave the paved road to follow on the grassy path.
You are in the middle of Sainokami's forest. Continue straight.
You spot Sainokami's stele in tribute of Mt. Yudono's gods.
You get out of the forest and spot a pond on your right.
You have a view on Gassan and Yudono's mountains from afar.
You will arrive near a small rice field.
You spot a flag that indicates the Tamugimata village is near.
Look from above. Do you see that thatched-roof afar..? This is Tamugimata village's famous thatched-roof house. You're near the end.
Follow the path down to the village.
The vegetation might have gotten wild before your visit, but try to follow the path in between.
Cross the river. Try to not fall!
If you come across this stela of Mt. Yudono's gods, it means you're not lost. Hooray!
You're very close to the Tamugimata's Thatch-Roofed House.
You finally arrive in the village.
Here ends the third part of the Rokujurigoe-kaido pilgrimage.
